This week the economy has dominated the news, with the Office for National Statistics announcing on Wednesday that GDP was down 0.2% in Q4 of 2011. This is already fuelling speculation of the prospect of a double-dip recession, which wasn’t exactly the best news for the Prime Minister to take to Davos.

Although a lot of the news yesterday was about Cameron telling Germany to “be bold” in dealing with the Eurozone crisis, undoubtedly he was upstaged by Mick Jagger, who snubbed the PM, saying “I am not your football”.

Speaking of football, the Duchess of Cornwall has shown herself to be an Arsenal fan when she visited the ground as part of the Premier League Reading Stars initiative. Whether or not Royal support will help the team to victory this weekend remains to be seen.

And finally, shoppers in Leeds were surprised to find a “letter box monster” next to a post box, giving them a choice as to how they sent their mail. There hasn’t been this much excitement in the delivery of letters since Postman Pat left our screens.

The week in a tweet: @sickipediabot Fair play to Harry Redknapp, I can't even get our dog to sit and beg let alone go and open an off shore bank account.
